Ann Marie Davis

Ann Marie Davis

February 1960 ~ November 2021

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ann Marie Davis.

She was the wife of the late Lawrence Bruce Davis who passed away in September.

Ann was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and great aunt.

She loved to learn and garnering knowledge was a driving force in her life. Ann homeschooled her daughters, Bonnie and Jessica through high school. She loved to teach so much and loved children, she extended her knowledge with her children, nieces, nephews, grandkids, and great nieces and nephews whenever she could.

She was a stay-at-home mom and provided love, comfort and life changing advice. Her steadiness and consistency was integral. She balanced and maintained the harmony of her family and those around her.

Both her and Bruce were steady and supportive of each other, their family and extended family. Always a helping hand and loved creating family moments to treasure forever.

She spent her precious time sewing, crafting, quilting, cooking, baking, reading, subsistence living and ranching. You could count on Ann to brighten a room with delicious goodies and positive demeanor.

Making her husband’s dream of a successful legacy herd was a prominent goal of Ann’s life. She spent countless hours finding resources of knowledge for good herding and husbandry techniques. She and Bruce delighted in sharing that knowledge with others so they could also succeed. She worked at the University of Fairbanks Northwest Campus as the High Latitude Range Management Coordinator.

Ann had an uncanny intuition and savvy knowing. She was astute at methodically breaking down impossible, large issues and puzzles to become manageable, positive experiences.

Her grandkids and grand nieces and nephews will sorely miss her company and advice on the latest games and gaming devices.  Watching and talking of the latest movies and shows of science fiction, fiction, fantasy, science, Indigenous culture.

Ann was a culture bearer and readily taught anyone who wanted to learn what she had mastered for her daughter’s education; be it hide tanning, baking, picking and preserving berries, preserving fish, skin sewing, sewing, beading, parenting advice, relationship advice, or just connecting in a positive manner.

Bruce and Ann were the loves of each other’s lives. It is a great comfort knowing they’re united again.

Arrangements are in order for a service for Mom and Dad at a later time. With COVID, it has restricted our ability to grieve in a fashion we are used to. We ask for respect in the difficult decisions in light of these abnormal times and situations. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alaska USA account 153484 SCHEELE.
