Ebba Doris Ivanoff

Oct. 15, 1941 – January 1, 2023

Ebba Doris Ivanoff was born on October 15,1941 to Elizabeth and David Paniptchuk in Unalakleet. She passed away peacefully in her home beside her two daughters on January 1,2023.

Ebba went to school until her early high school years.

She met Harris and got married on March 12, 1961 when she was pregnant with David “Sonny.” They later had Art “Eskimo”, Loretta “Lou”, Harris “Bones” Jr., Francis “Wesley”, Samuel and Elizabeth “Bae.”

In 1999, her and Harris adopted Francis as their son.

She was an avid Bingo player and always had to dress up every night changing out her necklaces and head scarves.

Ebba loved the subsistence lifestyle. In the summer you’d see her across the river cutting fish. In the winter and spring you’d catch her and Harris up the river fishing for trout. Her and Harris loved their grandchildren so much and supported them with every sport they were active in, you could see them in their usual spot at the gymnasium cheering them on.

She is survived by her children David, Art, Loretta, Wesley (Carla), Sam and Liz (Henry Nielsen); brother Clarence “Mugsy”, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchild and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harris Ivanoff Sr, mother Elizabeth; sister Stella Nicholas; brothers Lawrence, Conrad and Walter “Gingly”, and son Francis “Bubb.”

“Ahrah you!”

Ebba will be greatly missed by all of us. Peace to her sweet memory
