Louis Devon Buffas

February 28, 1987 – November 12, 2021

Louis passed away peacefully on November 12, 2021 in Anchorage, Alaska, not able to recover from a massive heart attack.  His family was at his side.  Before he passed, Louis and his longtime partner, Darlene, were married in the eyes of God with the Preacher and witnesses present.

Louis’s work included being a heavy equipment operator, carpenter and mason.  He was a jack-of-all-trades and took pride in doing a good job at whatever task he took on.  Louis enjoyed boating, hunting, camping and providing for his family.  He was very loving and unselfish and would give you the shirt off his back.  Louis had a good-natured sense of humor and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and helping his Mom and Dad at Cape.

Louis especially loved being a Dad; embracing and loving his son Tony from the day he was born.  Tony was the light of his life and they were inseparable.

Louis is survived by his wife Darlene (Pumpkin), son Antonio (Tony), four-years of age; parents Timothy and Angela, brother’s Brandon, Andrew, Alexander and Timothy, Jr. and a huge family of aunts, uncles,  cousins and friends across Alaska.

Burial and a Celebration of Life will be held in Nome, his hometown, at a later date.

Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in the heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.  – Eskimo Proverb

Remember Me:  To the living, I am gone.  To the sorrowful, I will never return.  To the angry, I was cheated.  But to the happy, I am at peace, and to the faithful, I have never left.  I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.  So as you stand upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea – remember me.  As you look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty – remember me.  As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity – remember me.  Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed.  For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.  -Margaret Mead-
