Burl Frank Mosquito Jr.
Burl Frank Mosquito Jr., lovingly known as Frank, was born on April 11, 1974, in Nome, Alaska, to Burl and Vera Mosquito. He was the second oldest son of eight children.
Frank passed away on October 5, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska.
Frank grew up in Nome, where he spent his childhood outdoors—fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and playing with his friends. Those early days were filled with laughter, adventure, and the strong family bonds that shaped his life. He later moved to Anchorage, where he earned his GED and worked for many years at Safeway in the Northway Mall.
Frank’s proudest moments in life were the births of his children Devynn and Dianna, who meant the world to him. He spoke of them often and loved them deeply. He was very proud of the young people they are becoming.
Frank’s journey was not without hardship, but through it all, he remained kindhearted, caring, and full of laughter. His gentle spirit and sense of humor touched everyone around him. He really knew about fishing and enjoyed looking for berries to gather. He found peace in nature, in family, and in the memories of his hometown of Nome.
Frank did struggle and though his journey was not easy, he never lost his humor and would make things right. He had a big heart and a gift for making others laugh, even in difficult times. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his laughter, and his deep connection to the land and the simple joys of life—fishing, berry picking, and spending time outdoors.
Frank is survived by his sisters Delores Savage, Ellen Bradford, and Madelon Beck; brothers Stan Milligrock and Mark Mosquito; his beloved children Devynn and Dianna Mosquito; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Burl and Vera Singyke Mosquito; grandparents Hazel Kugzruk, Daniel Singyke, and Frank and Ruth Mosquito; and sisters Doreen Nelson and Patty Ann Mosquito.
Though Frank’s life held both joy and hardship, his love and laughter will be remembered always. He is finally at peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before him.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 in Teller, Alaska, with a burial date in near future.
