Katherine A. “Aghloo” Punguk was born to Walter and Emily Oseuk on November 10, 1948. On August 4, 2025 Kathy went to be with her beloved husband, Thomas.
Kathy married Thomas Punguk in 1970 and moved to Golovin from Gambell, Alaska to start her family. She was the proud mother of Walter Punguk. For many years, Kathy was employed by BIA and worked at the Golovin School as a teacher aide for many years. She also worked as the City Clerk for many years.
Kathy lived a subsistence lifestyle, she and Tommy were always out and about, picking berries, hunting seals and fishing. Her kitchen was always busy, she made sure all her visitors had food to eat. She was well-known for her delicious doughnuts that she made and shared with everyone.
Kathy and Tommy opened their home to their visitors. She loved kids and was very fond of Amanda. She loved Amanda like her own and they were very close. And when Amanda had her three children, Kathy grew to love them as her grandchildren. Kathy was also very close to Anne Lockwood.
Kathy will surely be missed and cherished by all who knew her.
